Fermented Barley Water dailyfoodphotography

in #food8 years ago (edited)

I’m fermenting barley water now. After I drink the water, the barley will go into soup or salad.

Barley is part of my never ending quest to add variety to my diet. Barley water stops that heaty feeling and is very refreshing. The fermentation makes it even better.

I used to eat a lot of rice, but then I found out about the arsenic.

And I avoid wheat now for many reasons.

I soak a lot of different foods before eating, and I talked about that in this post about not taking diet advice from Oprah.

Here is my most popular food video on you tube. It is all about barley and leads to many more. Please like, share and subscribe!

I’m using a Canon ELPH160 point and shoot camera. Not recommended!

Would I be in SE Asia having fun and adventure if I still weighed 275 pounds? I don't think so. Anyone can get over obesity and live their dreams if I did.

Will give it a try, thanks

You're welcome.

Most of the people are does't know the benefits of Barley Water. In Olden days most of the people live long because of drinking barley water. nice information Thanks

I agree with you. I never even thought to try it until I started looking into healthy foods a few years ago. We are so fooled about what is good for us. Maybe now I have a few extra years coming since I drink it a lot!

Awesome this is truly one of kind.....

Really would love to prepare a meal like this....

Thank you @fitinfun

You're welcome - you can do it too. Very easy.

Funny that you mentioned that it stops the heaty feeling, because barley is thought to be cooling in traditional Chinese medicine!

The first person who told my to try this idea is Chinese Malaysian. I was soaking and cooking with the water and he told me to try drinking it like his family does. It's really amazing to me how common this is in other cultures. It's pretty much unheard of in the west. I'm so glad to have the seal of approval from the old days. I feel much better about doing this now :)

What a coincidence. My family was originally from Malaysia as well and I've liked this healthy (as long as there's not too much sugar of course) drink from young.

I'm not putting sugar in it - just drinking it straight. Now you are giving me ideas!

Hey dear @fitinfun
Thanks for update nice stuff about #barley water. Its very useful for fitness and Barley water is a traditional drink consumed in different country. Drinking low/hot grain in water, strained or not, is an ancient practice. All the best and keep it steeming

So interesting. I think we lost our way in the west. I'm glad to know this is an ancient practice. Now I feel even better about doing it.

This food is delicious and helpful our body. I like this food .

Me too! It's one of my favorites now.

I've never heard of fermented barley before. Quite interesting... I'll have to try it.

It's really delicious and refreshing and easy. Pour water on it and wait a couple of days. That's it!
