Balut in the Philippines

Don't gag, please! And if you do...well, I'll be eatin' some of this stuff anyway - with a smile on my face. It's a (formerly) developing duck embryo that's been boiled, and it's not bad! It's especially good with beer or lambanog (coconut booze).

Where I live, it can easily be found on the street, but I usually just wait for a guy who rides his bike around my neighborhood yelling "Balut! Balut!" He usually comes by after another guy rides by selling tinapa (smoked fish).
