Korean barbecue at home in style...
Hi steemit friends,
Me and my hubby love to try out different cuisine in difference days... hot soup in winter and fresh salad in summer days...
It is cold and wet today in New Zealand, so we decided to make our own Korean barbecue at home..
when eating Korean BBQ, you need a hot plate or grill . it can be a Japanese binchotan or a portable hot plate. The one I am using is a typical non-smoke BBQ grill plate.. before we put food on the grill plate, we need half cup water in the bottom level to reduce the smoke. ^-^
There are so many ingredients we can choose for Korean BBQ, we usually choose thinly sliced meat ,such as raw pork belly or marinated beef called bulgogi. I think kimchi, rice ,onion and lettuces are the must, you can put meats inside lettuces with sauce to make your very own wraps. hmmmm..... some side dishes like savory pancakes and miso soups are great to go with the BBQ
here are the side dishes I prepared for today s dinner
The sauce we used today:
1. sea salt+sesame oil+freshly sliced garlic
2. Korean chili warp paste( the green package, not the red or yellow one)
you can get all these ingredients from local Asian grocery stores.
Luckily, New Zealand also produce some high quality beefs...so we got some really nice beef slice in a reasonable price
some pork belly marinated by myself....it s really good!
some veges...I know those meats made me put on at least 2kg!!!
yum yum time.... never mind the weight issue for now...
