Simple Pancit
I call this simple pancit because instead of using pork or chicken meat, I used sardines again hehe. This can be the counterpart of my pasta sardines. There’s no special occasion. I just want to cook.
200 grams Pancit Bihon noodles
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 medium red onion chopped
1 can regular sardines
2 carrots shredded
1 cabbage chopped
2 stems spring onions
1 stem celery
salt and ground black pepper
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
2-3 cups of water
PROCEDURE
- In a large wok, sauté garlic, onion.
- Add the sardines.
- Throw in the carrots, simmer for 1 minute the add the cabbage.
- Add water. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and season with salt and water. Bring to boil.
- Test the taste before adding the noodles. If you achieved the preferred taste, add now the noodles.
- Keep on stirring and tossing until the noodles are tender and the liquid evaporates completely.
- Add the spring onions and celery. Tossed for 1 minute more.
- Serve with calamansi on the side. But for me, I prefer adding vinegar hehe.
