Homemade H E A L T H Y jam

Today I will write the recipe for a homemade healthy jam.

For most people, homemade jam is a synonym for the grandmother's jam.

The jams that our grandmothers made are old school.

They require a lot of work (cooking, canning) and they have a lot of sugar. Sugar isn't healthy.

I like to eat fresh and healthy.

When I want to eat jam, I make this simple recipe for healthy jam without sugar. :)

For this jam I use Strawberries 🍓, you can use other berry fruits. Sometimes I add chia seeds.

The recipe is easy and simple. You need:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 3 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  • Mixed sliced strawberries and maple syrup
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently
  • Directly in the pan, mash strawberries using a fork
  • Add chia seeds, lime juice and cinnamon, mix well
  • Remove from the heat and leave the mixture to rest
  • Cool completely before putting into a sealable container and place in the fridge.

You can serve with pancakes or bread :)
