Homemade H E A L T H Y jam
Today I will write the recipe for a homemade healthy jam.
For most people, homemade jam is a synonym for the grandmother's jam.
The jams that our grandmothers made are old school.
They require a lot of work (cooking, canning) and they have a lot of sugar. Sugar isn't healthy.
I like to eat fresh and healthy.
When I want to eat jam, I make this simple recipe for healthy jam without sugar. :)
For this jam I use Strawberries 🍓, you can use other berry fruits. Sometimes I add chia seeds.
The recipe is easy and simple. You need:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 3 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 ½ tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
- Mixed sliced strawberries and maple syrup
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently
- Directly in the pan, mash strawberries using a fork
- Add chia seeds, lime juice and cinnamon, mix well
- Remove from the heat and leave the mixture to rest
- Cool completely before putting into a sealable container and place in the fridge.
You can serve with pancakes or bread :)
