Is Eating Raw Fish Safe
hello steemains..
Many people worry about eating raw fish, but before you swear off sushi forever, there are a few important things you need to understand.
Eating raw fish is safe if you are eating appropriate fish that are free of bacteria, viruses and heavy metals. Human beings have been eating raw fish for thousands of years, but the past century has also seen a major increase in pollution of marine environments, which can lead to contamination [4] of fish populations.
While it is safe to eat some raw fish, and there are a number of health benefits in doing so, you must know what types of raw fish you can eat. For example, you can eat raw salmon and the types of fish that are found in sushi, but you shouldn’t eat raw large mouth bass, pollock, and haddock. You can get sick from eating raw fish, but raw fish can sometimes be healthier than cooked fish.
Benefits
If you are eating safely sourced and pathogen-free raw fish, it can have a number of health benefits, such as the following:
• Increasing your overall intake of omega-3 fatty acids
• Eliminating fatigue
When you cook fish, it can decrease the nutrient content [3], particularly when it comes to these anti-inflammatory fatty acids. The manner in which you eat raw fish, i.e., sushi, can also have various benefits, due to the mineral and nutrient quality of other ingredients.
Risks
There are some notable dangers [1] of eating raw fish, which can be avoided if you only eat fish from trusted sources.
• Parasitic infections (liver flukes, tapeworms, roundworms)
• Heavy metal toxicity (mercury)
• A higher level of environmental pollutants
• Complications with pregnancy (heavy metals)
• Bacterial infections.
• Buy refrigerated fish.
As a steemit plankton I would ask : is it safe to swim in whale infested water?
A shark may ask : Nobody is asking me about eating fish that are polluted with heavy metals, and I never had the chance to get refrigerated fish either.
On the other hand, I think it is more safe to eat suhsi then a happy meal. (I don't eat either)
dont worry, you ll be fine :)
Thank-you @dimpledoll
It is not my common food, but I have been asked to partake several more times recently than in all my years. I personally cannot see the benefit, at least not in taste, but, hey, I was raised to chew mutton. This info is very helpful and I will be posting your post to several on fb, to remind them or inform them, as necessary. Keep on keeping on. 😇
Resteemed.

You may have met #greetersguild¿ but also be aware of @newbiegames and read some posts from @davemccoy and @amariespeaks as they helped me a great deal when I was newly arrived. I'm not sure now where, but there is a whitepaper and a bluepaper, worth reading. 😇
