PKB (Traditional cake from Aceh)

Mendengar kue PKB mungkin tidak begitu asing ditelinga sebagiaan teman-teman steemian, khusunya yang berasal dari Provinsi Aceh. Kue yang melegenda ini begitu akrab bagi keseharian masyarakat Aceh.

Pada dasarnya bentuk Kue PKB ini sama persis sepertik bentuk Kue Martabak Bangka, namun dari segi ukurannya Martabak Bangka lebih besar, sedangkan Kue PKB ini kecil dari segi ukurannya.

Kue PKB ini dinamakan PKB dikarenakan bentuknya setelah dilipat menyerupai kemaluan kerbau Betina, sehingga masyarakat Aceh menasbihkan nama kue ini sebagai PKB singkatan dari Pukow Keubeu (Kemaluan Kerbau Betina dalam bahasa Aceh).

PKB cake is called PKB because its shape after folded resembles genital cock of female buffalo, so the people of Aceh name it of this cake as PKB stands for Pukow Keubeu ( The genitalia of female buffalo in Aceh language).

Kue ini terdapat hampir diseluruh wilayah Aceh, bahkan hingga kepedalaman Aceh kue ini masih menjadi kue yang begitu diminati masyarakat, disamping harganya relatif murah, Kue PKB ini bisa dinikmati beragam usia, mulai anak-anak, remaja hingga dewasa.

Pada kesempatan ini saya juga sempat mencoba membuat kue PKB tersebut, bila melihat sekilas proses memasaknya begitu mudah, namun ketika kita mencobanya sungguh sangat diluar dugaan, tangan saya begitu kaku untuk meratakan adonan didalam cetakannya.
