Hi there! 🍽

My grandmother has always taken great pains to pamper her grandchildren, nephews, and godchildren. One of the ways she did this was by preparing delicious meals for us. On every special occasion or achievement, she has been there to celebrate with us.

Recently, in my country, we celebrated Children's Day and I wanted to prepare for @chamerada a dish I learned from her. She calls it "Chinese Rice" and it's a recipe she learned from my great-grandmother.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice - previously cooked
  • 1 cm piece Ginger - sliced
  • 1 Onion - cutted into small pieces
  • 1 carrot - cutted into small pieces
  • 4 small potatoes - to make French Fries
  • Leek - sliced
  • Garlic - sliced
  • 2 eggs - to prepare an omelette
  • shredded chicken
  • vegetable oil
  • Soy Sauce

My grandmother taught me that white rice should be cooked in advance, if possible one day earlier. This makes the grains very loose and makes it easier to prepare the dish.

The French fries should be ready minutes before starting, just like the omelet. The omelet should be cut into medium squares and be stored in a bowl with the fries and shredded chicken.

In a frying pan over medium heat add the oil and the vegetables already cut. It is important to mix constantly, fry until the onion looks transparent.

Now we add the white rice and mix it with the vegetables in the pan. It's important to keep the rice from burning or sticking to the pan.

Once this is done, it's time to add the chicken, the French fries, and the omelet. Once all the ingredients are integrated it is time to add the soy sauce to your taste.

Sounds like a tasty meal! Healthy too. It's great to make a meal for your son which came from his great great grandmother!

Yes, it's very tasty. I don't know how healthy it is because almost all the ingredients have to be fried but it is very tasty. I hope Adam learns to make it so it can continue to be a family "legacy". Thanks for stopping by!

You're right, I guess frying isn't known for being a healthy way to cook. But I did see vegetables and eggs in the ingredients which are good things for most people to eat, I think. Everyone is different and some things that we hear are healthy don't do well with our systems sometimes, but I think this excellent recipe is a great way to get some healthy ingredients in us since we will love the taste of this meal! :)

Yes, it's true! This recipe contains several vegetables and I recently heard that a nutritious recipe is usually also colorful, this is a colorful recipe thanks to the variety of vegetables it contains :D
