Good day steemians,I bring to you today another important topic titled FOOD SAFETY,Before going deep i must say food is very essential for humans,and i doubt if there are people that don't eat at all.Food safety should be practiced at home or anywhere you find yourself and you have to take something in.If one does not practice food safety then different consequences awaits that person.

In Nigeria today we consume different type of dishes without properly combining them to meet up the food standard, We learnt about some classes of food while in high school and each have a very important role to play in our body ,carbohydrates is widely consumed by most homes which can cause serious harms and damages to the body.

There are some few steps to take to prevent some food illness and disease to ensure we live in good health:

  • WE SHOULD MAKE SURE WE CLEAN AND WASH ANYTHING WE WANT TO TAKE IN WHETHER IT REQUIRES COOKING OR NOT,WE SHOULD ALSO CULTIVATE THE HABIT OF WASHING HANDS BEFORE MEAL PREPARATIONS AND ALSO THE SURFACE AREA OF WHERE YOU WANT TO PREPARE THE FOOD BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER COOKING IT HELPS TO KILL LITTLE BACTERIA ONE CAN'T SEE

  • WE SHOULD PRESERVE OUR FOOD STUFFS WELL,WHEN WE PRESERVE OR STORE OUR FOOD IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO PLACE RAW ITEMS AND COOKED DISHES SEPARATELY TO AVOID CROSS CONTAMINATION, IT MAY ALSO HELP IF WE HAVE DIFFERENT CHOPPING BOARDS FOR DIFFERENT FOOD ITEMS SUCH AS MEAT,FISH,SALAD VEGGIE AND BREAD THIS ALSO REDUCE THE RISK TO CONTAMINATE FOOD ILLNESS

  • ANOTHER MAJOR WAY TO STAY SAFE IS BY COOKING,IF IT MEETS THE REQUIRED TEMPERATURE IT WOULD SURELY KILL ALL BACTERIA, SO WE SHOULD RESEARCH ON THE DEGREE OF TEMPERATURE OUR FOOD NEEDS BEFORE SERVING,HALF DONE FOODS CAN ALSO CAUSE SERIOUS EFFECT ON OUR BODY

This few steps can be easily practiced it does not require help from anyone, we should remember that HEALTH IS WEALTH having all the money in the world and not staying healthy can be dangerous ,even without having much we should make our health priority.

In conclusion i hope i have been able to give few points that can help prevent food illness, we should keep our environment clean

Washing our fruits and vegetables properly is very important in preventing illnesses. Preferably wash under running water and rinse with a solution of salt.
For meat, chicken, pork, please boil very well at high temperatures to kill off microorganisms.
