¡This is how a Venezuelan quesillo is prepared!

¡Hello Steemians! Today I woke up with the need to eat a delicious Venezuelan quesillo. Since I can not prepare it because of the lack of ingredients in my kitchen (sad reality for cravings) I will share with all of you the recipe so that you can make it at home and be able to taste it.

The quesillo is one of the most recognized sweets in Venezuela because it is a cold, soft, creamy dessert that can be prepared in different ways to vary the palate. Without a doubt, sugar is the protagonist of giving life to this delirium. I will tell you about some ingredients that can give you that "novel" and delicious touch but first let's take a look at the basic materials and the preparation for approximately 12 servings:

- For the candy
2 tablespoons of sugar at least

- For the quesillo
3 eggs
1 can of condensed milk Vanilla to taste
Liquid milk (the measure can be the same cup of condensed milk)
1 measure of rum

As you can see it is quite simple... it takes us longer to eat it than to prepare it and that is why they can also do it on the same day to receive visits in case they have nothing to offer in the fridge. At least in Venezuela we have the habit of offering coffee or dessert (or both if there is a possibility) to those who pass through our homes.

- The preparation
1.- In a small basin add ¼ of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar for the caramel. We place to simmer and wait for it to thicken and take a color similar to honey. Once the desired texture is achieved, pour it into a small mold and let it cool while preparing the mixture. You can also buy the ready-made candy.
2.- We take all the ingredients of the quesillo, we place them in the blender and we begin to beat. Must mix thoroughly for a maximum of 3 minutes until homogenized.
3.- We pour the mixture into the container that will go to the oven slowly (the same place where the caramel is).
4.- We heat it in a mary's bath for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. After this lapse we insert a knife and if it comes out clean it is because the quesillo is ready.
5.- Refrigerate in the fridge for 4 or 5 hours, dismantle, serve and ... ready to eat!

As "special touch" to give a different flavor can use juice or orange liqueur, carrot, chocolate, lemon zest or, my favorite, coconut... the latter is worth trying. I assure you they will want to eat up the remains that remain in the mold or it will not be worth sharing. No 2 quesillos equal, so they can give themselves the opportunity to try different recipes until they find the one they like the most.
