best way to make a cake for a crowd

My daughter loves baking cakes in her free time for her family and friends and here is the perfect recipe for a plain sponge cake that she makes, decorating it is optional. This one is decorated with fresh cream, strawberries & pineapple. ENJOY!!
ingredients
8 eggs
400g caster sugar
400g flour
400g butter
- preheat the oven to 200oc, gas6
- beat the eggs and put to one side
- whisk the butter and sugar together until smooth
- slowly add the eggs in
- do the same but with the flour
- and whisk until a fluffy mixture
- grease a baking tray with a little bit of butter (makes one 12 times 16, 2 8inch baking tins or 50 cupcakes).
- pour the mix in and put in the oven it should take 25 mins for a large tray bake and 12-15 mins for cupcakes. use a knife to check if they are cooked

this cake was made a couple of years ago, it is long gone.
