Mauritian litti bread :
Hi my dearest friends!
Today I brought for you another great recipe, it’s ancient Mauritian recipe named litti bread, I made it with simple ingredients, with flour , thyme , mint, coriander, onion shopped finely, and little salt.
The most of the Mauritian made it when have cyclone, and my husband he told me that this recipe created before by the poorest people, when they didn’t find food, they mixed the flour with some herbs, and cooked it , and eat it with hot Mauritian tea, my husband he likes it too much , and i have to try it.
To make this easy bread you need :
- flour+ mint+ thyme + coriander + onion shopped finely + salt+ little baking powder + warm water.
- put all the ingredients in bowl.
- mix them well and knead until you get a soft dough.
- form a balls, and spread them with your hands
Put little oil in the pan for not stick, and put your litti bread to cook in medium heat.
- turn the bread to cook in the other side.
- cut the bread in half and check it with your hand if dry that mean cooked, and if still sticky then you have to cook it more.
The litti bread are ready to have it with hot tea!!!
Don’t have more easy than this healthy recipe!!
I hope you give it try at home!
