Homemade Noodles
Hello steemits, I wanted to share you this delicious and easy homemade noodle recipe. My father would make these noodles every Thanksgiving. I think that was the only time my father would make them was on Thanksgiving.
The recipe comes from an old Betty Crocker recipe book. I got this Better Crocker recipe book about a year ago from my mother; my mother got it from my fathers aunt and uncle as a wedding gift. I am honored that she gave me the book. It is a fabulous book that has a lot of great recipes in it.
Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 whole egg
- 3 Tbsp cold water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups of sifted flour
Directions
Beat the 3 egg yolks and the whole egg all together. Then beat in 3 Tablespoons of cold water and salt. Stir in and gradually pour in the 2 cups of flour.
After the dough is all mixed, divide the dough into 3 parts.
Roll out each piece as thinly as possible, on a lightly floured countertop.
Place between 2 towels until the dough is partially dry. after the dough has dried, roll the dough up as a jelly roll.
With a knife cut into strips of desired width (1/8 for fine noodles, and 1/2 inch for broad noodles) Shake out the strips and allow to dry before using or storing. I store my noodles in freezer bags and put them in the freezer.
It makes 6 cups of noodles.

I love fresh homemade noodles, I was given a different recipe by my hubbys grand mother (she made the best chicken and noodles meal I have ever eaten). She used a baking hen...
The chicken and noodles sounds really good! I love homemade noodles also, they are so much better than the dry noodles.
