Burger Obsession - Super Combo

I recently had the pleasure of attending the opening of Brisbane's newest burger concept, Super Combo. I thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys!

A new contender has arrived in the fierce battle for ultimate burger supremacy. Unleashing an impressive menu paired with a vibrant and eclectic dining experience, their goal is to deliver the K.O blow that decimates any ravenous appetite. Located on the ever popular King Street, roughly 1.5 km's from Brisbane city's CBD in Bowen Hills, a true treat awaits burger aficionados and video game enthusiasts.

Super Combo is the brainchild of Michael Nham and Hao Vu, the Melbourne duo behind Albert Park's NSHRY. After winning the 2011 Melbourne 'The Burger Adventure' award, they continued to finish in the top ten list for six years in a row. They were clearly on to something. As kids, Michael and Hao spent many hours playing Street Fighter at their local takeaway shop. Their passion for video games and experience in creating award winning burgers led to the birth of Brisbane’s Super Combo.

The video game theme is blatantly apparent from the second you enter the store, with dynamic, retro-inspired colours catching the eye, 3D printed fighting characters descending from the ceiling and my personal favourite touch, their playable original Nintendo Entertainment System. Fun, exciting and tasty are the words that come to mind, prepare yourselves for an epic nostalgic journey. If you are up for the challenge, grab a controller and enjoy a few rounds of button mashing action or browse their unique variety of sauces from around the world, while you wait for your order.

Their delicious burger menu draws inspiration from around the world, with American, Japanese, Brazilian, Indian and Russian themes enjoying the limelight. Meat is the star of the show with all of their beef patties made from premium Angus and wagyu mince. Complementing this is a selection of sides and a mouth-watering list of shakes that is sure to hit the spot. Super Combo certainly brings something new and exciting to the table so get on over to King Street and see what all the fuss is about.
