Arepas Tumbarrancho
Ingredients:
Arepas (already prepared)
2 eggs
½ cup of wheat flour
2 tablespoons of Mustard
½ Liquid milk
½ Glass of water
1 teaspoon salt
200 Grs of sliced mortadella
½ kgs of hand cheese or your favorite
100 Grs Cabbage minced (Juliana)
2 tomatoes cut into strips without seeds
Vegetable oil
Elaboration:
Preparation of batter:
1- In a separate bowl add the flour, eggs, salt, mustard and milk and stir until the mixture is unified, then add the water little by little until a thick mixture is obtained for the batter (only the water should be placed
necessary).
2- We make a lateral cut with the knife and partially open the arepa, placing a slice of mortadella inside (it is important that the mortadella does not protrude from the arepa).
3- Submerge the arepa in the mixture of the batter using tongs, submerging them in abundant hot oil, let fry until brown on both sides and remove from the oil. (place them on absorbent paper)
Final step:
- Open the arepa, stuffed with hand cheese, cabbage, tomato strips, mayonnaise, tomato sauce (ketchup) and mustard.

Son típicas de acá de Maracaibo, las preferidas del zuliano. Y si que son muy ricas.
