ok just again noticed, i should make a #introduceyourself post. Anyway, will do later.
I'm maintaining with 2 good friends of mine 2 burrito (TEX-MEX) stores in Amsterdam.
Yesterday we got a damn huge order into. Guess who was ordering in one of our stores?

The Burrito Maker aan het Haarlemmerplein kreeg vanavond hun grootste bestelling ooit: of ze even 150 burrito's konden maken. De bestelling was niet voor zomaar iemand, maar voor Beyoncé en haar crew.
'Voor zo'n grote bestelling hebben wij alleen de capaciteit niet', zegt Thomas van The Burrito Maker tegen AT5. Uiteindelijk zijn er 75 burrito's gemaakt. 'Ze kwamen ze gelukkig wel zelf ophalen. Het waren twee grote dozen geworden met een hoop chips erbij.'

Of Queen Bey zelf ook een hapje heeft genomen van de burrito's is niet duidelijk. Een crewlid kwam de burrito's ophalen. De Amerikaanse zangeres trad vanavond op in de Arena.

Why did I upvote this post?
Well, I think cass saw an opportunity and he took it, so I felt I should give him credit for that. He's running a business and he should promote it any way he can. It's a jungle out there and he should do everything possible to promote his business.
But this post also shows a weakness in Steemit that is easily exploited. In this case a post that contributes nothing other than taking advantage of the "Beyonce" brand to serve as an advertisement for a local business in Amsterdam.
In the process $7870 (at the time of this post) in Steem gets sucked out of the Steemit economy to promote what is basically an advertisement. Steemit in this case served as a hybrid version of Google Adwords. But instead of the costs of the ad being paid by the advertiser it is being paid by the Steemit community.
We really do need to think before clicking on that "vote" button.
What seems like a thrill at first glance, may hit your wallet pretty hard and leave you with an empty feeling, after you think about it. After all, Beyonce got her Burritos, cass got his sales and free advertisement, and Steemit got the bill.
Now... looking at it in another way. This had to be very exciting for cass that he got this order from Beyonce. If it was me I would not have hesitated for one minute to post the story. It just goes to show that there are so many ways to look at the various reasons for posting, that at the end of the day ... the only thing that matters is that "gut" feeling when you hit the vote button.
