Coco-Shocko Banana-Shocko Chips (ORIGINAL PHOTOS)steemCreated with Sketch.

I absolutely adore  crispy and delicious Coconut and Banana chips. They are a great alternative for potato chips and are more nutritious. Lucky those who have them at the supermarkets in their countries, but those who do not, they have to come up with how to make them at home. The version I will share with you, has no added sugars or any conservant to make them look completely white as coconut shreds or yellow as bananas after drying process. Because they are all natural!

To start, let's take a whole coconut and a bunch of bananas.

Let me confess, I am not a professional coconut opener but my method works every time. What I usually do is to prick one of the wholes on the top of the coconut and pour out the juices to the bowl so later on I could use them too. Then, I usually put a coconut into a bag, tie it up, and then SMASHHHHH on the concrete! Voila! Take a knife and peel that dark brown skin and cut your coconut into thin slices.

With bananas it is way easier, just wash, peel, and cut them into thin slices.

Take food dehydrator and place slices on the trays. Let them dry according to the instructions of your dehydrator. They should pop out from the tray when completely dry.
