Today my mother made this delicious desert with cloudberries and whipped cream. It is a simple desert that is very popular in Norway for christmas and is very good with coffee.
The Cloudberry grows in swamp areas in woods and mountains in the northern countries. It is hard to find and some have their secret cloudberry spots. The berries are golden orange and have a unique taste.
We serve the cloudberry cream with an old Norwegian christmas cookie called Strull. It is made on an iron with a decorative pattern on it.
Some other christmas cookies. My mother loves to bake and for christmas there is always at least 7 different cookies for the afternoon coffee.
