Chess cookies

in #food8 years ago

Very cute cookies. I'll have to tinker with a little test with
different colors, but the result will be appreciated even by
grandmasters!

300 g of flour
150 g of sugar
150 g of butter
1 egg
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 egg white

Whisk the softened butter with sugar, add the egg, flour, knead the
dough and put into the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

Set aside about 1/4 of the dough. The rest is divided into 2 equal
parts, in one part add the cocoa and mix well, to a uniform color.
Roll out the light and dark parts into a 5 mm thick layer of the same
size.

Light coat a layer of protein, lay a brown layer on top. Cut exactly
into strips 5 mm thick. If you have an eye - not a diamond, take a
ruler.
Piece of dough, set aside at the beginning, roll to a thickness of 5
mm. Lubricate with protein. On top, lay out 2 two-colored stripes to
make a chessboard pattern. Lubricate with protein and wrap in dough.
Small sausages are obtained.

Wrap it in a film, then in a foil and put it back in the refrigerator.

When you are ready to cook, preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Lubricate the
tray and sprinkle with flour. Cut the sausages into 5 mm slices and
bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes.

I can see these being popular with fat nerds...and also helping to create fat nerds. I will be cooking these and beginning my transformation a.s.a.p! Thanks for the share.
