Painting eggs in a natural way

in #food4 years ago

I came up with the idea to paint the eggs the old-fashioned way for Orthodox Easter this year. When I was younger I used to love eggs with artificial colors. Now I appreciate the natural way of preparing food and throwing out artificial substances whenever possible.

This way of painting is healthy but also very fun, each painted egg is unique. It is almost impossible to make two eggs with the same pictures and colors.

You will need:
-eggs
-various plants - clover, dandelion, leaves of various grasses
-scissors
-nylon stockings
-cooking pot
-onion shells

First you need to collect a lot of onion shells.
Cut the nylon stockings into smaller pieces, then tie the knot at one end and place the egg wrapped with grass and flowers. The sock tightens around the egg and ties at the other end. This is done until all the eggs are wrapped.

Then place the onion shells in the cooking pot and the eggs on top. Fill the pot with water and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

When the eggs are cooked, allow them to cool and remove them from nylon stockings.
Coat the eggs with oil and line into a decorative basket.
