Hot food for a wintery weekend - Hamin dish

in #food6 years ago (edited)

The last Shabat was cold and stormy with lightning and thunder and torrential rain.
So what is more suitable for the hot main course of the midday Shabat meal? A pot of Hamin of course.
To get up in a wintered Shabat morning and to smell the delicious warm food Hamin dish, it's so addictable!

This made me think that Hamin/Cholent is a definite Jewish food that can't be disputed.
Cholent is actually a dish that the Jewish head invented in order to fulfill the commandment of observing the Shabat.
The order of "Do not burn fire" gave a burst of creativity in the preparation of a pot that cooks slowly in dozens of styles.
Every community has its own recipe.
In most styles, some meat comes with cereal or legumes. This delicious food satisfies with the traditional addition of eggs contains the full protein that the body needs.
Hamin, the Sephardi version of Shabat dish, derives from the Hebrew word "ham" that means "hot" also Cholent is hot.
There is Moroccan Schina, Tunisian Dafina, Iraqi Tabit, Bukharian Ushisabu, Cholent of the European communities and much more that I do not even know their names.

The Cholent is so connected to the Shabat like some other foods i.e. the spicy fish dish, which when you prepare it on a weekday it doesn't have the same taste. It may be psychological, but this feeling is probably the special spice that gives this rich flavor…like food for the soul.
Would you like to try it? It's really tasty, definitely, Yummy !

Would you?
