LaFoodie #4: A $300 Steak Dinner Worth It??

For our 1 year Anniversary we decided to forego expensive gifts or a trip and have a really nice dinner out.

We decided on Mastro's Steak House Ocean Club in Malibu, CA. A beautiful location for a restaurant right on the water, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We got a table near the windows to view the sunset.

We started with drinks at the bar while our table was getting setup. An Old Fashioned for the husband and a mojito for me (this was pre-preggers).

When our table was ready we made our way and begun drooling over the other guest's food. We enjoyed the complimentary basket of warm breads (pretzel bread!? Yes!) We made our orders and the food from there definitely did not disappoint!

They are known for the steak of course, so we each got the 12 oz. filet, delivered still sizzling from the 500 degree ovens. They are wet-aged and cooked to perfection.

We also couldn't resist the lobster mashed potatoes and gorgonzola mac and cheese. Both were delicious sides and accompanied the steak wonderfully, all completely mouthwatering.

Now for dessert!

This is the famous butter cake, a dream on a plate!! It is their signature dessert, and for good reason. It is one of the best desserts I have ever had. Light and fluffy, sweet and buttery!

Overall, worth every penny! A beautiful location with excellent food that lived up to all its hype.
