Nourishing Smoothie Recipe!!

This recipe comes out of the Nourishing Traditions book by Sally Fallon and is absolutely delicious!! I come from a background of veganism and, of course, smoothies (typically green) were a staple. I was excited to try out this cultured milk smoothie from the book and it didn't disappoint! There are several different ways you could make this smoothie and so keep in mind that the one that I am sharing can be tweaked how ever you like.

1-1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (full fat, organic, grass fed)
1 ripe banana
2 T coconut oil (organic, virgin)
2 egg yolks (organic, pastured)
3 T pure maple syrup
1 t pure vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon

Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth!

This is a decadent smoothie that is rich and creamy and so, consequently, you don't need as much to feel full and satisfied. This recipe made a little over half a quart size mason jar. This is in stark contrast to the 2 quart size green smoothies I would need to consume to even get closed to feeling satisfied before. I very much look forward to playing around with this smoothie and seeing what other recipes I can come up with!
