Our Top 10 Super Foods

in #food8 years ago

My family are trying to get a healthier lifestyle, not easy I know. But having recently had words like Pre-Diabetes and Under Active Thyroid being mentioned by the doctor I know it's really time to move and not just talk about it.  We have been researching super foods to try make some sense of their qualities. This list is our Top 10. What do you think? Agree? or are there better things we should be looking for? We are just an average UK family without ££££'s to burn so have tried to keep our list realistic.

10. Honey and Bee Pollen.   Contains 5 to 7 times more protein than beef, helps with inflammation and is a natural sugar.

9. Cacao Nut.  100% cacao nibs or powder. Contains antioxidants, iron and magnesium.

8. Sea Plants.  Spirulina algae which can be bought in pill/powder form and can be added to smoothies to add extra protein and vitamins. Nori seaweed which helps with weight loss and cellulite. Packed with nutrients.

6. Coconut (the drupe). The water contains electrolytes which help the body get energy to different cells. Really good for athletes. The oil is a high quality fat which can be used in replacement for butter/margarine and is great for cooking with.
