Southern-Thai Chicken Satay
Satay is believed to have originated in Indonesia, where it is still one of the most popular dishes. At some point the dish was adopted by mainland Malaysia and then into the mostly Muslim-dominated regions of Southern Thailand.
THAI SATAY
Although it may vary from slightly from country to country, the dish is pretty simple. Chicken breast is marinated in tumeric to give it a slightly yellow colour, and then skewered usually on a small bamboo stick which has been soaked in water. The satay stick is then grilled over charcoal embers until cooked.
The satay is served with a sweet and slightly spicy peanut dipping sauce which I think is particularly delicious, and each restaurant has their own way of preparing this too. As if often the case in Thailand it is served with small triangles of toasted white bread. I am not sure why, and it feels a bit out of place, but I dip it in the sauce anyway.
OUR MEAL
Here you can see out fairly plain meal of white rice, chicken satays, and another dish of grilled beef with beans and cucumber. Perfect snack food for a late afternoon and matched with a cold beer.
ENJOY !!!

I never never seen anything quite like that! Looks great though. Tumeric has gotten more popular in the United States in pill form especially.
It looks simply delicious. I just woken up and suddenly my tea and rusks seem less exciting!

Even though I don't eat meat, it looks like a deliciously prepared meal! I actually had pad thai earlier tonight and it was so good! Thanks for sharing, @bkkshadow
