Goo Goo Clusters!
I was recently introduced to Goo Goo Clusters on my recent trip to Nashville and I had never heard of them before. Are there any other fans on here?
The Original Goo Goo Cluster
Basically, they're marshmallow nougat, topped with caramel and peanuts and covered in chocolate... and they're awesome! After trying it, I did some digging and apparently there's some rich history to the Goo Goo Cluster.
It's an American candy bar that was developed by Howard Campbell in 1912 for the Standard Candy Company in Nashville, TN. Since then, it's become a local favorite (they had bowls of these at our conference). There's two other types, supreme (with cashews) and peanut butter, that I didn't try and now I'm disappointed I didn't, so I might order some online.
When I was eating it I found myself wishing they sued Snickers, because it's basically a Snickers but better... In any event, if you have the opportunity to try one, take it!
