Nourishments are the food necessary for growth, health, and good living condition. Food is a substance we eat for nutritional or gustatory purposes.

This article is written mainly to share a variety of ideas, recipes and basic health advantages and is dedicated to everyone especially young girls, ladies and women for them to develop more zeal in cooking. We can all share ideas about our thoughts in order to rub minds together and advance to better levels.

I hope my recipes make you hungry to read more and probably inspire you to run to the kitchen and make a dish. A little secret about me ​I love food​.... Let's go people.....

INTRODUCTION

Serving healthy food to your family can be challenging especially when you are on a low budget. The huge assemblage of foods in grocery stores makes it arduous to purchase the perfect deal for various foods. People surmise that buying healthy food are expensive but with logical shopping and spending, it's not back breaking.

FOOD, HEALTH AND FLAVOUR

People tend to ask questions whether a certain food is healthy? Well let me make some analysis. For example;
Are eggs healthy? Compared to oats, definitely not but compared to sausages added for breakfast YES it's very nice and healthy.
What about potatoes? They are known to be vegetables, so they must be healthy right? Yes! But compared to Irish Potatoes (French fries), Mashed sweet potato is a NO.

These may not be satisfying answers but the only way to answer the questions meaningfully is to ask what your options really are. For example: if you're in a restaurant, mashed sweet potatoes may very well be your healthiest option.

Food on special occasions is insignificant to what you eat day in, day out. A good way to adjust to a healthier diet is to think of three meals you enjoy and are mainly cultivated rather than processed or manufactured. Spaghetti with tomato sauce can be better served as rice added with vegetables.
Next, think of three meals that could be made healthier, such as switching from eating rice, spaghetti and stew to rice, vegetables and fish.

Finally, challenge yourself to discover new healthy options. This won't be easy but the fact is, as you eat more healthily, your palate changes, amazing right? Your taste buds constantly adapts over time. Try this: if you drink orange juice right now, it would taste sweet but if you eat sweets e.g menthol sweets then you drink the same juice, it would taste unpleasantly bitter or you eat garden egg and drink water, it's gives a terrible taste. The more you eat healthily, the better healthy foods taste.


I remember the first time I ate cucumber. I stay with a mother who loves drinking 'blended varieties of fruits' before breakfast. I help in preparing the fruits by waning and cutting them into the smoothie blender. That fateful day, she told me to taste the cucumber, I tasted it, I felt like throwing up. This happened because I detest cucumber. The next day, I tried drinking the blended fruit which cucumber was added, the next day, I tried again, gradually, my taste buds had no choice but to adapt to the taste of cucumber.

This happens with all your sense organs. When you walk into a dark room, your eyes slowly adapts. When you stick your foot into a hot bath, at first it will be to hot but gradually your body equilibrates until it gets normal. Likewise, in a couple of days, weeks, you can be eating, drinking and enjoying "concoctions" that you consider wretched today as long as it gives the body better health benefits.
