MK Restaurant

Welcome to MK. Today I'm going to take you on a tour of Thailand's most famous suki restaurant chain 'MK restaurant'. It is simply known to the locals as 'MK'. Suki should not be confused with the Chinese Hot pot or the Japanese ShaBu ShaBu. It is uniquely Thai.

Amongst tourist, MK is a memorial and popular place to eat. They have an array of meat and vegetables to choose from on their menu along with dim sum, roasted pork and roasted duck. MK's focus is on healthy eating which is why they boil the food instead of frying it. https://www.mkrestaurant.com/en

"The high concentration of vegetables combined with quality cuts of meats and seafood as main ingredients – all boiled rather than fried – has allowed suki to capitalize on the growing trend of healthier eating among the population at large."

MK first opened its doors in 1962 in Bangkok, Thailand. There are more than 600 branches nationwide. Under the brand name of 8 brands, there are also 32 branches in Japan and Vietnam, 5 in Laos, 2 in Singapore and 7 in Myanmar, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Let's begin this tour with the entrance of the restaurant.

Before entering MK. I like to drool over the roasted duck in the window.

We arrived at our table and the staff had already served a glass of cold tea.

Then the staff kindly directed us on how to use the menu touch screen. It's very user friendly , basically touch what you want to order. It offers the menu in Thai and English.

And a few other items. Now everything goes into the pot.

I'm patiently waiting for everything to cook.

That was delicious! Along with the bill which was fairly priced, came a Dietary Reference Intake list.

And finally as we were leaving I spotted a robot in the corner. It was created by the engineering department from the Bangkok University. Pretty cool!
