Let's Talk About SUSTAINABILITY and VALUE CHAIN In Agriculture

One of the basic things to look out for in agriculture is the value chain and sustainability of the project. An average farmer will love to know how much profit he is going to get from a business venture, he want to know if he's going to break even in one year, two years or at most three years of starting the farm business and we all know that in the world we live in right now farming is not an hobby anymore, it is a business and it has to be treated as such.
Alright, now an average farmer wants to expand his farm based on certain number of columns, and certain volume of profit that he has made in his business.
We are talking about the value chain, it is just a fancy word for profitability or profit, it the gains that you make as a farmer for doing certain thing. Talking about sustainability, it is really a bogus word for being able to keep the business alive for a very long time as a farmer. Ability to plant this year, probably next year and beyond. Sustainability is expanding your farm next two years, do it until it actually gets to the level that you so much desire and it can give you much more profit than the first farm setup can give you.
So that is basically the extent of sustainability and value chain, alright. In our next discussion here, I'll be talking about the supply chain in agribusiness, how important it is like I have to tell some guys, I told them that the supply chain is really as important as the value chain in agriculture business.
