About Salak or Snake Fruit
Salak is a type of palm fruit commonly eaten. In English is called bark or snake fruit, while its scientific name is Salacca zalacca. This fruit is called snake fruit because its skin is similar to snake scales.

Salak is mainly grown for fruit, which is popular as a tables fruit. Besides eaten fresh, salak is also commonly made sweets, pickled, canned, or packed as bark chips. Salak pengalininan, originated from Bangkalan, Madura. Small, brown-yellowish, and tastes sweet, crispy, and masir.
