End of exams celebration [Ft Japanese Cuisine]

Just ended the last exam paper of my entire life (Most probably the last). The paper was quite decent, studying teacher's sample questions paid off.
After the paper we went to celebrate, 2 of my friends (Lets call them friend C & friend J) and I decided to eat some Japanese cuisine as a celebration. This was not the first time going there for lunch, we went there quite often. We normally ordered their cheapest set meal, hang out, chit chat and talk about random stuff.

well i would recommend their Bara Chirashi set ($14.80). Its basically a mixture of raw fish (Salmon, Tuna, Swordfish), Tamago, Cucumber and rice. The set also comes with a miso soup, Chawanmushi (egg), Salad, random side dish and fruits. Not bad considering we 3 paid slightly more than $10 each including GST & service charge.

Well back to the main story. We decided to go all raw and ordered our usual, Bara Chirashi Set

However that was not the end. Because something good happened to both friend C and friend J, they decided to ordered 2 of the most expensive item on the menu. It was Ootoro Sashimi (Tuna) & Uni Sashimi (Sea urchin).

The Ootoro Sashimi (Left) cost $35 while the Uni (Right) cost $18.

It was my 1st time trying Uni and tbh it doesn't taste as special as what friend J said it would be. To me it taste like the oceans smell. That day the Ootoro taste weird too. Comparing it with the other Ootoro i had at other places, this Ootoro taste abit fishy and the colour doesn't look appealing and vibrant as it should have.

Well overall the meal was good, we got to laugh and talk about a number of stuff. If i had to rate, i would give the
Chirashi set 6/10
Ootoro Sashimi 5/10
Uni Sashimi 6/10
I would give both the Ootoro and Uni another chance. Maybe i would grasp what a fresh Ootoro and Uni taste like when i fly to Japan next year. hahaha.
