What is a Kulfi?

Kulfi is basically a frozen dessert or an Ice-cream which is made mostly from Milk. It's a classic Indian Dessert which can be found in fancy restaurants and even on the streets.

If you ask me about my Memories if having Kulfi it would most definitely be from my childhood when I used to visit my grandparents in their Village. A guy used to being Kulfis in his Portable Freezer and sell them to us and it was pure bliss for me. So since I am talking about Kulfis why not write down a Recipe for that.

Recipe for Making Homemade Kulfis

I will be sharing a super simple recipe for making a Kulfi at home.

Ingredients

Milk
Sugar
One Elaichi
Almonds and Pistachios

Yes, this is all the ingredients we need to make a good and delicious Kulfi.

1. Start with simmering down Milk in a Non-stick Cookware. If you take 1 liter of milk to simmer then you should simmer it until it halves in volume.
2. Once the milk is nice and simmered add in some Sugar according to your taste and some crushed Almonds and Pistachios. Stir them well.
3. Next step you need to crush a single Elaichi and throw it in the mix and simmer for another 5 minutes.
4. Now we are almost done and all you need to do is pour the slurry mixture into a small glass and add a stick at the top.
5. Freeze in the freezer for 8 hours.

And it's all ready to be eaten. It will be best if you make the slurry at night and freeze them overnight so that you can enjoy the Cool Kulfi in the morning sun.
