Linat-ang Baboy "aka" Nilagang Baboy or Boiled Pork Soup ala @arashikawaii

in #food6 years ago

Hello there dear fellow steemians!!! 🙂
This is @arashikawaii once again sharing you one of my family's favorite dish which I cook for them.

This is a simple boiled pork soup or pork stew..."Linat-ang baboy" in our own dialect and "Nilagang baboy" in tagalog. This dish is nearly similar to pork pochero that my family loves to eat too. And I promise to share my way of cooking "Pork pochero" soon.

Now, allow me to present to you the ingredients as well as the procedure on how to cook "Nilagang Baboy".

INGREDIENTS

P_20180130_091812.jpg

  • 1/2 kg pork belly
  • 2 medium sized potato
  • 1 medium sized corn ( cut into 4)
  • 5 to 6 pcs String Beans
  • 3 pcs Ripe Banana Saba
  • Cabbage or Pechay
  • Onion
  • Ginger
  • Spring Onion
  • Tomato
  • Soy Sauce
  • Salt
  • Pork Cube
  • Water

Cooking Procedure:

  • Wash the pork and vegetables thoroughly.
  • Pre boil the pork on a pot until it becomes a bit tender. Then set aside the pork separately from the water or pork broth.
  • On another pot saute onions, crushed ginger and head of spring onion ( the white part)
  • Then put in the pre boiled pork then add a small amount of soy sauce, then cover for about 20 seconds to allow the pork to absorb the soy sauce. And then put in the pork broth (water from pre boiled pork)
  • Cover and let it simmer.
  • Then put in the corn...then the banana saba. I usually have banana saba in my nilagang baboy and pochero because banana has a sweet unique taste that will tastefully blend the flavor of the soup.
  • So after putting the banana, put the potato. Cover again and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Then add the string beans and spring onions.
  • Season it with knorr pork cube and salt.
  • Lastly put in the cabbage or pechay. Right after putting the cabbage turn off the stove and just leave the cooking pot there.
  • In a little while serve it hot...

I usually serve separate soup on a small cup.
