Little Cheese and Pepper rolls.
This is a recipe that I thought was too nice for the Christmas gatherings, because when we bake these little rolls they are made of a nice design like a bouquet of flowers in my opinion. Apart from that it is a recipe is extremely versatile idea that you can adapt to your tastes or to that you have on hand at home. Ingredients:
- 300 grams of flour.
- 2 tablespoons milk powder.
- 2 tablespoon of butter.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- 1 spoonful of yeast.
- 1 small pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon of oregano.
- 2 cups of grated cheese
- 2 eggs
- Water quantity needed.
Preparation:
In a small bowl or container pour the yeast, a tablespoon of sugar and 4 tablespoons of slightly warm water. Mix everything very well and cover with a cloth, you will know that the yeast is activated in about 10 minutes later when you see that it is bubbly.
In a bowl pour: The flour, the two tablespoons of remaining sugar, salt, butter, an egg and milk powder.Add the activated yeast and start to knead, then gradually add slightly warm water until everything is compacted into a dough. You will need about a cup of water but you may need more or less. You must knead until it does not stick in your fingers and it should look smooth. Then let it rest in a bowl greased with oil and covered with a cloth for about an hour or until it doubles its size.
Stretch the dough in a rectangular shape, the dough must be wider than long so that the rolls come out small. Melt the remaining spoonful of butter and add the oregano. To the stretched dough add the mixture of butter and oregano covering it all.Spread the cheese and pepper on top of the spread dough.
Roll the dough and cut each roll about 4 cm thick. Place them delicately on a floured and greased tray next to each other without leaving empty spaces. Finally, beat the remaining egg with a tablespoon of water and brush each roll.
Bake at 150 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve freshly baked or cold.
