GREEN SMOOTHIE OF THE DAY: Very Tropical Garden Fruit Smoothie
Though not everything for this yummy green drink came from the garden - It is a bit too soon for that - the papaya and jackfruit are homegrown ;) Oh and the water is our very own homebrew too. We bought some ceramic water filters and have a very deep well were we get the water from. More about that in a separate post ;)
It is so cool to be able to get free food straight from the garden and looking at it we are going to have plenty soon to give a lot of it to the neighbors, friends and random strangers that pass by the land.
Though we are newbie homesteaders or wanna-be-off-the-grid-livers, I'm loving the lifestyle and can't wait till the day we can proudly announce that we are able to live from the land we have.
Very Tropical Garden Fruit Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups spinach
- Fresh mint to taste
3 passion fruit - 1/2 cup jackfruit
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1 banana
- 1 cup papaya
- 2-3 cup water
- 2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
- Optional: goji berries (topping)
Directions
Blend spinach and water until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick, add more liquid base. If you have a high-speed blender, throw everything in at once.
Optional: top with toppings/superfoods of your choice. I used chia seeds this time.
Happy days to you and your family ;)
