Potoler Dolma | Potoler Dorma | 2 ways- Veg(coconut stuffing) and Non-Veg(chicken keema) Recipe

in #food6 years ago

“Potoler Dolma” or stuffed pointed gourd is a very famous Bengali delicacy which is served both veg and non-veg in occasions. This dish is a very classic one which is rooted in Bengal. Though the word ‘dolma’ is not Bengali, its root is Turkish which means stuffed vegetable which are hallowed or scooped out and are filled with minced meat or fish or vegetables. For generation after generation Bengalis (East India) relish dolma with a very easily available vegetable “potol” or “pointed gourd” teamed with steamed rice. We have presented our own version of this recipe. In the veg one we used coconut as the base of stuffing and in the non-veg the stuffing is made of chicken instead of prawn or mutton.
