The best damn stuffing for a sunday roast.
These days very few people make stuffing from scratch, most people use packets of stuffing mix. Now for the branded stuffing mixes with their varied flavours you can pay upto £3.00 or even more. The stuffing I buy is shopbrand Sage and onion and costs just £0.15 yet I'd put my stuffing up against any of the packs on the market.
You see the packet of stuffing is just a base, a starting point. Usually I add a couple of slices of apple to it but today I've got a ripe plum and a jar of course grain mustard.
Just rough chop the plum.
Boil the kettle and put 200ml of boiling water into a jug, add the plum and a large spoonfull of the mustard.
Pour in you stuffing mix and give it a good stir.
Then go make yourself a cuppa with the rest of the water from the kettle and sit down for a bit so your mixture can swell and cool down a bit. After 5 or so minutes come back and roll the mixture into small balls and they're ready to go into the oven to cook for 25 minutes.
I promise you these stuffing balls will be better than any just out of a packet. You can add anything you fancy to stuffing mix depending on what you are cooking and rather than spending a couple of pounds on it you'rs spending £0.15.
I'm not a chef or cook, just someone using little hacks to make the cost of cooking for the family as cheap as possible.
