Cooking At Home: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hello everybody! Today, I am going to share a recipe of my own homemade chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are soft, chewy, and extra chocolatey! If you are looking for the perfect after-work snack, then this recipe is especially for you.

To start, I usually gather all my ingredients and set them aside on the counter. For this recipe, you are will need 300 to 350 g of plain flour, 230 g of granulated sugar, 170 g of either light or dark brown sugar, 230 g of butter, 2 large eggs, 5 ml of vanilla, a dash of salt, 5 ml of baking soda, 10 ml of warm water, and 350 g of either milk or dark chocolate chips.

Now that you have all the ingredients set out for the cookies, it's time to preheat the oven. For these chocolate chip cookies, the oven should be set to 180 degrees C. While the oven heats up, you should begin mixing the cookie dough.

First, soften the butter and place in a stand mixer along with the granulated sugar and the brown sugar. Mix until combined.

Next, beat the eggs in, one at a time. Continue mixing until the mixture looks creamy. Then, stir in the vanilla.

Once the vanilla is mixed in with the other ingredients, take a separate dish and dissolve the baking soda in the warm water. Add to the mixture along with the salt.

Slowly, incorporate the flour into the mixture, and watch as the dough begins to form, scraping away from the edges of the bowl. Add the chocolate chips.

Scoop the mixture in small or large balls onto a nonstick baking sheet, then place in the oven. Allow the cookies 10 to 12 minutes to bake, or until golden brown on top.

Once the cookies are done, set them a cooling rack to cool, and then Bon appetit!
