🌳 CACAO FRUIT 🌳
The fruit is called cacao - ripening dark brownish purple color. and weighs about 500 g when ripe. Fruit has about the size and shape of a rugby ball. The cacao fruit has crinkly brown red skin. Inside, it contains almond shaped cacao beans. The flesh of the cacao fruit is soft and has a zesty flavour.
Cocoa harvest is not restricted to one period per year and a harvest typically occurs over several months. cocoa is considered to be a rich source of antioxidants which may impart antiaging properties.
Cacao seeds (cacao beans) are used in the production of cacao powder and chocolate.
