don't eat gala though, you are right some food aren't actually spoilt after expiration date, some food though like diaries are to be avoided after expiration. Same in drugs some drugs are still potent even after expiration date, But for your own good stick to Drug expiration dates of Drugs except you are a professional and can take a judgement call on that!
