The Silver Cat: Fearsome Critter

in #folklore8 years ago

Like many fearsome critters, the Silver Cat is a large predatory cat. A very large feline, weighing 300 pounds and up in adulthood, the Silver Cat has a fearsome appearance indeed. LIke the name suggests, the SIlver Cat has a silver coat of fur. The eyes of this beast are red, the ears are tasselled, but it is it’s tail that gives the Silver Cat it’s distinct appearance.

Like the Ball Tailed Cat, the Silver Cat is equipped with a long, lethal tail. At the very tip of the cat’s elven foot long tail lies a large, hard knob. One side of the knob is smooth, while the other is spiked. The hunting method of the Silver Cat is to hang from the branches of trees. From there it waits until a victim (occasionally human) passes by, then it hits them with the smooth side of the knob, knocking them out. It then embeds the burrs of the spiked side of the tail into its prey and pulls it up into the branches, where it feasts.

Silver Cats are excellent climbers, and tend to spend most of their lives in trees. Their lairs are said to exist in the highest boughs of the forests.

Silver Cat.

Whoa. That tail sounds deadly. Large predatory cats are always the most deadly in nature - mountain lions (puma's), Jaguars, tigers. Add the "silver cat" to the list :)
