RE: ADSactly Folklore - Mysterious trees

in #folklore6 years ago

Certainly, the trees are the subject of numerous and rich mythical elaborations and legends, @nancybriti. The legends you present to us are very eye-catching; curiously, they are somehow linked to love situations. Thus, although he is not Venezuelan, I remember the Mayan myth (told in the Popol Vuh) of the important pumpkin tree where the head of the hero Hun-Hunahpu is placed, which will be approached by Princess Ixquic, who will be impregnated by the spittle that puts this head in her hand and will give birth to the two great heroes of that mythology.
From the Venezuelan aboriginal mythology, I remember the myth guajibo or jivi (ethnic group located between the current states Apure, Bolivar and Amazonas, near the Orinoco) of "Calibirri-nae", giant tree of all fruits, which by ambition of the settlers, is cut, and when it falls it will give origin to the famous Cerro Autana.
Thank you for your illustrative post, @nancybriti. Greetings.

I like you to refer to these aboriginal legends, which are rich and fantastic stories about the creation of man and that mostly have a very interesting symbolism. Maybe I could make some posts that talk about them. Thanks for always commenting, @josemalavem.
