I thought the same about the self driving cars. I was remembering the DARPA Challenge for self-driving cars some years ago, where all the cars really sucked in the competition. But then, some few years later, there was the Google car, that was able to drive autonomous very safe. The same will be happy with the flying cars. They will be very fast in the market. Maybe first as a fancy Uber service. Something like an air cab. But then more and more as private vehicles. Of course I don't expect, that anybody will have a flying car in the next 10 years, maybe not even in the next 25 years. But with an Uber service in five to ten years they would be mainstream.
