Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is a flowering plant, shrub or small tree in nature that is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in tropical or subtropical regions. Summer and autumn bring out theirs bright red flowers. The flower has 5 petals along with a beautiful orange tipped red anthers.

Other names- Chinese hibiscus, China rose, Hawaiian hibiscus, rose mallow and shoeblack plant. These flowers are known as “kembang sepatu” in Indonesia, which means “shoe flower” and Bunga Raya in Malaysia, which means “celebratory flower”.

Hibiscus rosa-Sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia.

Hibiscus flowers are edible and are used in salads on the Pacific island. Other uses of this flower include – to shine shoes in some parts of India, as preparation in hair care, and It is also used as a pH indicator. The flowers are dried in many countries and used in a beverage, usually tea.
In addition to that, It has medical uses in Chinese herbology. In China, they use flower petals to make a black shoe polish or to make a black hair dye for ladies, and to colour various intoxicating liquors.
