Anggrek merupakan jenis tumbuhan yang tingkat pertumbuhannya bergantung dari faktor dalam anggrek itu sendiri dan lingkungan dimana anggrek tersebut itu berada. Misalnya: dendrobium phalaenopsis. Sedangkan anggrek saprofit yaitu anggrek yang tumbuh pada media yang mengandung humus atau dedaunan kering serta membutuhkan hanya sedikit cahaya matahari.
