Do you know..? behind his beautiful name, amaryllis turns out to be a tragic love story. legend claims that red amaryllis has a connection with the love story of a fairy named Amaryllis who fell in love with a herd named Alteo. this young man has good looks like Apollo and strength like hercules. but unfortunately, the Amaryllis fairy love clapped a hand. he hopes to win the heart of Alteo by asking Oracle for advice in delphi.
as directed, he appears in front of Alteo's door in a white dress and pierces his heart with a golden arrow. so on until the 30th day Alteo opened the door. how surprised the young man saw the beautiful red flowers blooming in front of Alteo's house and along the way. it is said, the flower comes from the blood drop of the fairy. that's why many Amaryllis flowers are red.
