How Centauréa is born.
Today in a hike for fresh air and impressions, I took a walk through the untouched meadow. At some stage of the walk, I was fortunate enough to see and capture the moment of the birth of this tender flower.
Do not think that I'm clever, using Centauréa, I simply try to memorize the names of some flowers in Latin. In Russian, the flower photographed by me is called "Cornflower meadow". And so it looks after the "birth".
Well, now, to justify the title of the article, a little about the process of "birth" of these flowers. It's about cultivating cultivated (ornamental) kinds of cornflowers, which can add diversity to the landscape in the country, or simply decorate your balcony. Moreover, cornflowers have a very diverse range of colors.
Sow the cornflowers in the early spring, because the seedling of these flowers is fairly resistant to freezing. In regions with warm winter, you can sow Centauréa seeds in the fall. Seeds of plants in the soil or in containers are placed at a distance of about 5 cm from each other, when buried into the soil by 1 cm. After seedling, it is desirable to thin the planting, increasing the distance between flowers to 15-20 cm in each direction from one flower.
Legislative organic convenience in the soil before planting.
Consider the fact that the nectar of cornflowers is unusually sweet, so there will always be a large number of insects next to them. So, beforehand, worry about the mosquito net, if you grow in permission from windows and balcony openings.
If the planting of cornflower seeds is done on a countryside site, put a pair of "weathercock vanes" from plastic bottles as a repellent element, as these seeds are very beloved by some birds.
If everything is done in a good mood, then in the beginning of summer you can enjoy the magnificence of the shapes and shades of these unpretentious flowers.
