BIG FLOOD DISASTER THREATENS
Natural disasters are disasters caused by events or a series of events caused by nature, including earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, hurricanes, and landslides. Floods are the most frequent natural disasters in Indonesia. The definition of flooding is a condition where an area is inundated by large amounts of water. The arrival of floods can be predicted by taking into account the rainfall and water flow. High rainfall causes an increase in the volume of water in the land area. This relatively high rainfall intensity can cause watersheds, such as rivers, to no longer be able to hold the existing water. As a result, river water will overflow and inundate land areas that are usually dry. In addition, the bad habit of local residents throwing garbage into the river is also one of the causes of flooding. Here is the state of the river behind my house. Every year floods threaten the settlements of residents. May we all be safe from this flood disaster.
