🎥 Update on Flixxo 🎬 Video platform with exclusive content ▶️ powered by FLIXX and BitTorrent
Hello Steemit friends,
it's been months ago i guess that i reported about the project which impressed me with the underlying idea of the FLIXX token economy combined with streaming video via BitTorrent, a decentralized approach to take out the middleman. The team is relentlessly working towards the next version. Currently we are still in beta stage with a desktop app for Linux, Windows and iOS. This early version with a basic UI already shows the economics between different roles on the platform.

Most importantly there are
- viewers
- creators
Because i'm not a creator in this space i tested the role of a viewer. To watch videos on the platform first you need FLIXX as ERC20 token. Currently 1 FLIXX represents about $0.03. Basically that works with watching ads. Each day you can earn new FLIXX while watching ads. For the first you get $1.49, for the second half of the amount of the first and so on. Content prices reaching from 0.10 to 1 FLIXX or more. You just need to purchase a video once with your FLIXX and then you can watch it as long as you want. The creators get a big share of your crypto payment and a part goes to Flixxo.
The prices are free market prices. If a creator sets a too low price he may not earn enough to produce further quality content but maybe he get a lot attention in the first place as advertissement, too high prices can shy away all the viewers too. That's an interesting model where the creators get's their payment directly from the users NOT from a central authority! Competition can rise naturally without any middleman.
Beta Desktop App
If you wanna get a first impression what Flixxo can do just go to their website and just entering your email. Currently Flixxo uses the invitation system for a max of 10,000 people which should be sent until September 15th. With the next version of the platform on October 15th it should be replaced with another method.

Exlusive Content and other regular Stuff
Currently there is a colorful mix of content available, from movie trailers, cryptocurrency reviews to exclusive short movies. The latter catched my interest because there is some amazing stuff already on the platform i'd never seen before..
The short movie Tears of Steel is a Sci-Fi story which tells of love, broken hearts within in a Steampunk like setting with cool rendered robots.

That was something i always looked for because Adrián Garelik announced it months ago with the first release of the platform on June 25th and he kept his promises! To get this gem in my library of videos for example i just watched one short ad and then purchased it for 1 FLIXX in my account i guess. Sure for such great content it's worth the time! For other things like a movie trailer which is usually free on other platforms it is a bit annoying, not financially but in terms of usuability. But i think that will change with further development because this is still very early.
But Flixxo not just offers Sci-Fi category also for example a beautiful nature spectacle you can watch is available
..and much more i didn't watch until now. Honestly many of the videos play not instantly like on youtube currently but already quite fast for this beta version and in good quality.
Revamping the UI until October 15th
On the first screenshot you can see the current UI, but until October the team plans to release a fully new designed version with much better UI i'm excited about to see. The latest development report give you some further insights for the ambitious project.
Also the website will be relaunched with new design and many more things going as you can read in the link above.
Market Conditions for Flixxo
What should i say.. we are in a dark bear market right now! Especially for Flixxo it is a quite bad situation with a market cap just a bit over $2 million but the team wants no hype.

Watching the chart is no fun.. but the videos on the beta platform! Silently they are building something great fundamentally in my point of view. That could be cool with a next crypto hype cycle everyone is waiting for. I'm looking forward how this plays out for Flixxo.
