So, if boats are going over the horizon & disappear behind the curve of the ball earth, why can I see the shore of that island far off in the distance (when I zoom in)? How come that land mass is not leaning away from me, as it would on a globular earth?
Maybe because you are standing on ground higher than the ocean, looking across at the top half of a mountain?
